  • Heather Wakefield RSHeather Wakefield is Head of the Local Government Service Group of the UK's largest public service trade union Unison, representing over 700,000 of the union's 1.4 million members. She was previously a researcher and London regional official for Unison, Women's Rights Officer for NCCL (Liberty) and is a regular commentator on local government and women's issues.

  • Matthew Elliott - Taxpayers Alliance Matthew ElliottMatthew Elliott was born and brought up in Leeds. He moved down to London in 1997 to study at the London School of Economics, where he graduated with a First class degree in Government. Whilst at the LSE, Matthew was involved in the LSE Hayek Society and worked for the European Foundation – Britain's leading Eurorealist think-tank. After graduation, Matthew worked for a number of MPs and MEPs in the House of Commons and the European Parliament, before founding the TaxPayers' Alliance.
  • Ben Lucas - 2020 Public Services Trust Ben LucasBen Lucas is the Director of the 2020 Public Services Trust. He was formerly Head of Research and Communications at the construction trade union UCATT, before moving to become Jack Straw's adviser. He was chair of the Labour Coordinating Committee in the mid-1990s and then co-founded LLM Communications, a public affairs consultancy. He is now a member of the international advisory board of FD International, a business communications consultancy, and a Trustee of the New Local Government Network.
  • Nick Walkley - London Borough of Barnet Nick Walkley 2Nick Walkley is the Chief Executive of the London Borugh of Barnet. He took up the post in March 2009 having been on secondment to DCLG as Head of Strategy for Local Government improvement and efficiency.

He transformed the department that everyone loves to hate into one that at least attempts to treat taxpayers as customers. He has since been appointed Public Sector Ambassador for Business in the Community by The Prince of Wales.

  • Timothy Campbell NSFconfTimothy Campbell is an entrepreneurial businessman who first became known by the British public after being crowned the winner of the hit BBC series The Apprentice and going on to become the first Project Director of the Health & Beauty division within Sir Alan Sugar's company, Amstrad PLC.   • Daniel Oppenheimer DODaniel is NESTA's Chief Operating Officer and has overall responsibility for NESTA's effectiveness as an organisation, including performance measures, financial control, business planning and risk management. He is responsible for the investment and monitoring of NESTA's £300 million endowment. Daniel is also currently interim head of NESTA's Public Services Innovation Lab.
  • Colm McCarthy Colm Colm is a graduate of University College Dublin, University of Essex (1970). He worked at the Central Bank of Ireland, the Economic and Social Research Institute, DKM Economic Consultants and has been lecturing at UCD since 2005.
  • Bobby Duffy BobbyBobby Duffy is the Managing Director of the Ipsos MORI Social Research Institute. He has extensive experience as a project director, public speaker and team manager. Over the last 14 years, he has been responsible for conducting research projects for a variety of public sector clients, including most UK government departments.
