The Centre for Public Innovation (CPI) is a social enterprise supporting the development of innovation and outcomes in health, social care and criminal justice. We work with national and local government and across the third sector.
We are leaders in supporting commissioners to develop and deliver outcome-based commissioning and performance management. We do this through training and packages of support working alongside commissioners and other stakeholders.
Key to outcome-based commissioning is shifting investment from grant funding and counting activity to rewarding providers who achieve longitudinal changes with their clients that impact on commissioners outcomes. This incorporates, for example, ‘Payment by Results’ approaches and commissioning models that encourage lead provider and consortia arrangements; all supported by straightforward performance management frameworks that clearly demonstrate outcomes.
CPI is the only UK not-for-profit organisation delivering accredited training in “Developing Outcome-Based Commissioning in the Public and Third Sector”, accredited by National College of Further Education.
